I'll work better for single malt Scotch.* Yes, that's how we spell that word up here in Canada.ĥ) If you're ever in Toronto, I'll work for beer.

Can't stress this enough.Ĥ) Live looping is a skill, much like a new instrument, and having a consistent layout that makes sense to you is imperative to the success of this endeavour. I'll give you a few pointers to keep in mind:ġ) Ableton's Looper audio effect is what does the work in all of this.Ģ) Ableton's tempo will be synced to Mainstage, so you'll need to map a tempo control to Mainstage (tap tempo or a knob or both are possible and easy to do)ģ) Planning, planning, planning. Far too much information to type into a thread, but there are a few decent videos out there on Ableton looping setups, and Ableton slaved into Mainstage. That being said, I've done what you're trying to do, both personally and have been hired to set this up for others. Honestly, there's nothing new that would change any advice that was provided in any thread on this subject from the last 5 years.
#DOES GUITAR RIG 5 PLAYER WORK WITH ABLETON UPDATE#
I know, SVENGLE it, but I'm hoping that the short life expectancy of computers means a new thread might update old info. Thank you for your help, advice, and patience in another thread you might not be interested in. I don't necessarily need controllers as I have an SK1 88 which feels great for all kinds of playing, organ and synth and most piano stuff, FA 07 which has the advantage of now being Mainstage friendly, plus an Ultra Nova and a Kawai Mp7, all of which have different feels and are useful hardware pieces. Rig may incorporate hardware and virtualware maybe no hardware, but I'd need convincing I wouldn't need any hardware and would retain all the spontaneity of hardware (the right hardware of course). If it works for that, stands to reason I can use it for live organized music. Im mainly interested in incorporating Ableton (or Logic) into a live looping rig. Never owned an Apple aside from my ipod, ipad.
